Bogmalo Beach in Goa

Bogmalo Beach is situated in Bogmalo, a little beach-side village of Goa. This village is located in a tiny bay and surrounding it is a curvy sandy beach for a mile. This beach is situated at a distance of about 5.6 miles (9 km) from Vasco da Gama, the harbour town and 2.5 miles (4km) from Dabolim Airport. This beach contains fine sand, warm waters and is ideal for long walks.

The clear blue waters and clean sand welcome tourists to this splendid beach that is located very near the Vasco airport (less than 5km). The beach is perfect to go on a swim or to relax and take a sun bath. The best time to visit this beach would be in February because the crowds will be few at that time and you would get privacy with your family.

Bogmalo beach is not as crowded as many other fancy tourist beaches of Goa and Goa Diving, the famous school of scuba diving is located here. This beach is also close to the famous dive sites of Grand Island (only 15 mins). This beach is quiet, clean and nice and offers great views of the sunset, characteristic of all Goa beaches.

This beach is a must visit for those who look for privacy to spend time with loved ones and also do not enjoy being in crowded areas. That too, during weekdays, the crowds are even fewer making the beach more enjoyable. The view towards the left of the beach is lovely as you can see water splashing on the rocks. If you love to swim, you can enjoy more fun time on this decent and nice beach.

This is a nice and neat beach with good eat-out joints nearby and it is also less crowded making it a great relaxing spot. This beach is not too fancy and you would like its cleanliness and quiet relaxing atmosphere. The beach is very close to Dabolim Railway Station at a distance of about 3km and also connected by good bus services from Vasco.

The Dabolim airport road has the wall of the airport on one side of it and yellow grasslands on its other side, slowly leading to the beach. From a height, you can view the grand panorama of the beach. This beach enclosed by hills, is quite wide and long. The sea water is blue and at a long distance are island hills full of greenery. As of now, this beach is untouched and it must be maintained so.

Even though the water sport activities are very few here, you can enjoy swimming in the water and have fun. Most of the time, this beach is very quiet and has only a few people visiting it. This wonderful relaxing spot has very few little shops from where you can do your shopping. Although reaching this beach is a little bit hard, it is very pleasurable once reached.

This beautiful beach is a great place where you can spend time with your family or friends as it is very clean and neat most of the time. This beach is not a very big one but it is a very calm one and so it is very nice. Its exquisite views make this beach ideal for photography and especially evening photography, due to the marvelous sunset views from here.

The best time of the day to visit the Bogmalo beach is in the early mornings, before sunrise. If you visit this beach during early hours, you can find it secluded without crowds or disturbances. The water of this small and tidy beach is not blue in colour as the water in the beaches of Andaman but has a grey tint.

The waves in the beach are not too strong or big and you can go snorkeling on the northern end, even though you have to be extremely careful about the strong currents and sharp rocks. However, snorkeling is only recommended for well experienced snorkelers and it is also recommended that you use shoes and rubber gloves for safety.

There are a good number of shacks here providing excellent food but the rates in some are high. You can also find a stall selling chat at the beach’s entrance which is much better when compared to other chat stalls in Goa.

Joets shack, one among the famous shacks around the beach, serves almost everything a tourist expects and the specialty here is its signature dish, prawn-curry rice which must be tried out. While you are at Bogmalo beach, you must not miss another good place named Sakaram's shack which faces the beach. This shack provides delicious sea food and the service is very friendly to cater to your needs.
